Queen Victoria's reign brought many improvements to the education of children, especially for the poor children.

Boy 1877
This young boy wears a traditional sailor suit with cap and collar. The fabric of his suit is probably a woolen material in dark blue. He wears white socks and low leather shoes.
This young boy wears a traditional sailor suit with cap and collar. Notice the tally with a vessel name and the streamer. The fabric of his suit is probably a woolen material in navy (dark) blue. He does not have a lanyard, but there is a dark scarfe. There is a rank badge on his sleeve. He has white three-quarter socks and buckle shoes.

Bluecoat Schools
Boys at Christ's Hospital School in Sussex wear a traditional bluecoat uniform which dates back to Tudor times and is probably the oldest school dress still in regular use. The costume, with its distinctive ankle-length coat, neckbands, knee breeches and yellow stockings, is unlike any other school uniform. Pupils at some other bluecoat foundations also wear their historic 'charity costume' on occasion, but only at Christ's Hospital School is the Tudor dress still worn on a daily basis.

Thank You - Super Saturday
Lancaster Giants had there annual super saturday on the 3rd October. The event was under threat by the weather, but thankfully the rain held off to allow all of us no not get too wet! There were five fun events and I hope I can say all events were enjoyed by all. Next year the coaches get to have a go as well. Many thanks to everyone that turned up, helped, run events, brought raffle prizes, drunk tea, eat cakes and supported the day. Jenny will get back to us, with the funds raised in receipt of all sponsor forms. Then when they are in, we will distribute balls around. If you have forgotten the number of points you have scored then ask me at the next training session and I will let you know. If you couldn't make it today and you want to take part, then at the next training session we will run the events again for those people that couldn't come. Well done to all and a big thank you for making the day a success!!!
training
All, Tonight 30/9 is the last training session at moorside school due to the nights drawing in. From the 7th October we will be at Lancaster University on the new astro pitch. To get there take the lancaster house hotel turning. See you all tonight, Bri
